Enjoyed the devotional today regarding water and the Holy Spirit. So, on top of deciding to go to bed earlier and to get more rest and I am also deciding to drink a lot more water today. In my mind I am equating being filled more with the holy spirit and letting it energize and renew me completely. Just finished talking with a fellow believer that I work with and we talked about how difficulty in life can mature us in Christ. It’s not always easy to eat right or to drink more water or to get more sleep but if all I have to do is drink more water and eat more healthy to walk more like Christ than I’ll do it even if it is not easy. I’ll do it until it is easy.
So glad you enjoyed the devotional on water and the Holy Spirit. I love this: “It’s not always easy to eat right or to drink more water or to get more sleep but if all I have to do is drink more water and eat more healthy to walk more like Christ than I’ll do it even if it is not easy. I’ll do it until it is easy.” I feel the same way about giving up meat. That’s what I gave up. It’s not that I crave it; meat is just convenient. My family is eating it so I have easy access to something I know will fill me up, but meat makes me too heavy and negatively affects the way I feel and look. So for Christ’s sake, yes, I will continue to live without meat.
Read the devotional on yesterday about fast the right or wrong way and I would say that over the years I’ve done it both ways, right sometimes and wrong sometimes. So, I see me in Isaiah 58. Luke 6:46 says why call me Lord, Lord and you don’t do what I say to do? Isaiah 58:4 says you fast for strife and debate and to strike with the fist of wickedness., you will not fast as you do this day to make your voice heard on high. Ignore into fast that was suppose to be to hear from The Lord for change in my life spiritually and I was really just fasting just to say I fast and did none of the things to accomplish the change. Like keeping my head in the Word or praying, so it did not accomplish what it was designed to accomplish. So, I look forward to doing the right kind of fasting in this season of life.
